Step 9: Issuing the claim form
Having completed the Claim Form and located your local County Court you can now issue the claim.
We suggest that you take the Claim Form to the Court Office in person. Remember, you will need at least 3 copies; one for you; one for the Court and one for each Defendant you are claiming from.
The Court staff will check the Claim Form and will be able to deal with any queries you may have.
Once you have paid the fee the Court will issue the claim. The Court will then serve the Claim Form together with a "Response Pack" on the Defendant(s) by first class post. Service is deemed to take place two working days later.
You will be given a Notice of Issue form by the Court which will specify the date upon which service has taken place. Make a careful note of this and all subsequent dates in your diary.
